Checkers And Rally’s: Good to eat and invest in!

There are over fifteen types of beef burgers, six types of chicken burgers, and the fish burgers and then there are the hot dogs, the wings, and the fries obviously plus the smoothies and milkshakes. Phew! You might need more than 10 visits to even try out satisfactorily, Checkers and Rally’s menu and some more visits to reorder the ones you liked! And then don’t forget, it is a double drive-through restaurant. It cannot get better than this!

Ten years ago, Checkers and Rally’s went private as they merged with Taxi Holdings Corp – a private equity firm affiliated to Wellspring Capital Management. But then eight years later, Sentinel Capital Partners – another private equity firm, bought Checkers and Rally’s from Wellspring Capital Management.

Where will you find themNNN Lease Checkers & Rally’s Property

With 834 locations in 28 states in the United States of America and in the District of Columbia, Checkers and Rally’s has its headquarters located in Tampa, Florida. Currently the company has 315 company owned restaurants, 518 franchises in the U.S and one franchise outside the U.S.

Where it all began

They started separately with the same vision in mind – serving amazing burgers with flavor overloaded to kick out the bland burgers that were doing the rounds in the market. Checkers drive – in restaurants, in 1986, breezed into the burger market and stole the show in Mobile, Alabama. And on the other hand, Rally’s began its grill a year earlier in Louisville, Kentucky.

1999 saw both the big names in the burger and fast food industry coming together to drive their vision. This merger made the double drive thru restaurant one of the biggest food chains in the country.

Finances

2015 witnessed over $658 million of total sales across all the Checkers franchises in America. On an average, one Checkers and Rally’s location sees $83 thousand sales a year. Credibly Franchise Restaurant Ranking Index has scored Checkers and Rally’s a 52 on a scale of 100.

How about Investing?

Checkers had started franchising about 27 years back in 1989. With over 800 locations, the demands are still high and that is why they need to expand to new locations and need more outlets. Looking at the figures and revenue, another joint under their brand can prove rewarding for the investor. Checkers are also open for real estate site proposals from developers or brokers.

Once you have decided the area where you would want to have your restaurant, Checkers and Rally’s will provide you with six building designs to choose from, which can either be used to create a new structure or just convert an existing structure to meet the requirements of the restaurant.
